I have the original Montage 7 and the output distorts when the Montage volume slider is pushed past 2/3 of the way up. The more the slider is moved up the more it distorts. Like tube amp or fuzz box distortion, but not ideal with piano sounds. This distortion was there the first time I turned it on and has not changed.
My work around in is to keep volume slider at 2/3 and turn up the gain on my mixer. Don't need to do the with any of the other keyboards I own. Now I want to understand if all Montages have this issue or is this unique to my keyboard and should get this fixed.
I have debugged cables, mixer gain, etc and I am confident the Montage is creating the distortion.
Both balanced and unbalanced outputs have the same distortion. However the headphone output has NO distortion.
Any feedback would be helpful.
