Hi. Reading about the Juno-Gi doesn't have a Roland editor reminds me of my journey with the Fantom-XR. The Fantom-XR does have a software editor however it has no way to "write" a patch directly to the module. Some people commented that it could be because the editor was originally created for the Fantom-X series and not specifically the XR. I can understand this,(almost), but surely the aim of a synth module is that if it has a software editor you shouldn't have to touch the hardware. Such a glaring error by Roland. Instead of worrying too much I got a Sonic Cell off ebay which has the missing "Write" button in the editor and has more or less the same synth engine as the Fantom-X apart from the missing sampling capability.
Because the Roland Juno-Gi doesn't have a Roland software editor would have put me off purchasing it but there must be people, who use the Gi as their mother keyboard, may be quite satisfied with editing via the Juno-Gi itself. I was surprised that the Juno-Di is so similar in specs to the Gi so I realise why not having a software editor for the Gi is so important.
