Not having a Genos2 all I can offer is:
1. if you had a previous manager version installed uninstall it and verify that the version of the manager you are using is V2.10 This page supports what you said about Genos2 being supported but doesn't mention valid extensions

2. page 167 of the Genos2 reference manual shows cpi file type being supportedV2.9.0 to V2.10.0
Now supports the Genos2.
Yamaha Expansion Manager no longer supports Windows 8.1.
Improved response performance when selecting content to install on the instrument.
Solved some other minor problems.
