Yamaha Montage and Montage M Forum • Auditioning and setting favorites

A common use case is for me to go to a type of instrument, e.g. electric bass, listen to each one and flag a few as favorites. Currently I'm going to category search, with Bass selected in Main and Electric selected in Sub. I then scroll through the sounds. So far, so good.

When I find one, the only way I know to set the favorite flag is to press the Enter button, which takes me to the performance page where I can toggle the Favorite button. However, when I press the category search button again, Main is checked and it remembers to select Bass. Sub, however, is not checked, nor is Electric.

This means that when I return to search, I have to select Electric, which then brings me all the way back to the top of the list. I then have to remember the last sound I was at, scroll down to it, then start listening to the one after it.

I'm new to the M and I may be missing an obvious way to do this. It seems like for something as common as auditioning sounds and selecting favorites there might be a better workflow.

So, how do the professionals do it?
