Hi there,
If you connected your Motif-Rack to a computer in the past, there's a chance that it is configured to send/receive MIDI via the USB port, rather than its 5-pin DIN ports. Therefore, go to Utility mode, scroll to the “MIDI IN/OUT” parameter and make sure it is set to "MIDI" instead of “USB”.
With regards to the driver software, the Motif-Rack actually uses the same USB-MIDI driver as most other Yamaha instruments. If you want to give it a try again, download the latest version for 64-bit Windows systems here (versions for other operating systems are also available). To install the driver, set the Motif-Rack to "USB" again, and connect it to the computer. The computer will attempt to auto-detect the device and fail. You then manually run the setup.exe file from the downloaded content and follow the on-screen instructions.
