Hello, i know this is an old post and may mot get read,

I’ve had the same problem as you. I got the kawai mp7se, though it’s an older board, ive been a player for 25 years, ive found nothing that has a more gorgous piano sound.

Never have i been a fan of yahama even though everyone and their mother use it.

Ill never go for a keyboard that has an external power supply, thats a huge no no for me!

Not a fan of nords because they dont have enough storage and are way too over priced.

I plan to get a 73 key keyboard that has extra pads , synths ect and tether it to my kawai as its a master controler and just build off that. To me i feel the two keyboards that are the best out there are the yahama cp300 (used by even micheal w smith) or the kawai mp7se. No matter what I’ve tried I’ve not been satisfied the way i am with the kawai i have. When you pay the 3-5000 dollars on those nords all your paying for is just the name. They falsely advertise their key action! They just feel semi weighted to me! Yet people even use those literally everywhere and i dont want a board that everyone and their mother has. I like my kawai because it has the internal power supply, great sound and action and thats all i need. I just want better synth stuff. Even most kurzweil keyboards use external power adaptors yet they have been making keyboards for YEARS but no matter how many new boards come out they just use the same old sounds. I wont ever go for a keyboard that dosnt have the MIDI thru port eithor and most keyboards dont offer it.
The Kawai sk ex patches on the mp7se to me will sound by far better then MOST brands out there and is better than the cp88
I’ve tried casio, roland they both suck to.

Even if the person that posted this

Even if the main poster dosnt read this and if i wasted my time responding i hope it helps someone out there.
I started my search around the time you made this post, nothing yet has come out that is that much better yet.
Good luck on your journey but get the kawai you wont be disappointed! Despite the reviews I’ve had the best of luck with mine.
