The M8x is my first Yamaha keyboard, so I can't offer a comparison to previous generations. I can compare it to my Kronos and Fantom 7, but of course each has its strengths and weaknesses (and aftertouch is most certainly not a strength of the Fantom).
"High definition" is a vague phrase that people in marketing departments use when they want to sound impressive. And that's because they know that by the time serious geeks who understand all the technical meanings of things finish discussing actual definition and the high-ness thereof, the average buyer will have long since fallen asleep.
So, with that in mind, I'll simply offer this. The M8x sounds really, really good overall. And after playing the German Grand on my Kronos for many years (and loving it), I'm absolutely blown away by the dynamic range and responsiveness of the Hamburg Grand in comparison, as well as the overall sound quality.
As for muscular, I'm a studio rat. I pulled it out of a box, put it on the stand, and that was that. Not a lot of endurance training needed.![Smile :)]()
