Like a previous poster my son's Apxt2 3/4 acoustic pre amp has stopped working. Tuner will not turn on and plugging into an amp will not produce any sound. I've got a little bit of electronic skills. Here's what I've tested so far:
I first tested batteries - good and replaced with newer ones still no results.
Tested voltage output from battery box - good
Tested continuity to switch - good
Tested voltage to switch - good
Voltage crosses switch when activated
No capacitors look bad, nothing visually wrong on circuit boards
without any further information I'd just be guessing.
Considering how little we paid for the guitar 5 years ago I don't want to put too much money into a solution. Looked on Reverb and Ebay for replacement pre amp but only found sold items no longer available. Is this something we can order from Yamaha? My son is fond of the guitar and even though he has other guitars available to play now, we'd like to keep this one in working order.
