Like "CASM", Yamaha have never defined "UVF". My guess is "Universal Voice File".pjd, I didn't know I could look up that data from the UVF. User Voice File? Is that the same tiny midi that is each yamaha voice on a PSR?
Yamaha provide UVF for regular, mostly legacy voices. Thus, we can't explore SArt or SArt2. That leaves out all the really interesting voices like the most recent acoustic pianos. I suspect that Genos/PSR pianos are similar to equivalents in Montage/MODX-land, but that is an enormous leap of faith.
As to SArt specifically, we can scan the MegaVoice maps to see the (probable) underlying waveforms. SArt is pretty much an internal scripting software layer that triggers the same waveforms as MegaVoice.
The "tiny MIDI" is the VCE file. The information in a VCE file is a small subset of the UVF (XML) although the representations are vastly different: MIDI vs. XML. YEM generates VCE from the UVF "voiceSet" XML tag and its contents. UVF is comprehensive, extensive and is very synth-y.
