There are not many votes on it yet, but it is in assessment, and the more votes this has will of course help its chances of getting throughThe new AN-X engine sounds great, but as a long time AN fan (EX5R, AN1x, PLG150-AN in my studio still) I was surprised to see some AN1x features missing in action in AN-X which make it hard to fully emulate classic AN1x sounds in AN-X.
I am toying with the idea of doing an AN1x to AN-X converter (I did AN1x to EX AN in ex.factory) but right now feel the differences are too great to try.
Whilst I have not done a deep analysis yet, what I have noticed so far include
But you get the drift. AN-X is a fantastic Montage upgrade. Having AN1x features added, in what is hopefully an upgradable architecture, would be the icing on the cake!
- No OSC shape (effectively an LPF on each oscillator)
- Not all AN1x OSC waveforms present in AN-X
- Not all LFO waveforms present in AN-X, especially the unipolar ones
- OSC sync is VERY different and my attempts at doing some AN1x sync sounds have been woeful - but that could be me….
