That age old question but the simple answer is that your sound is only as good as it can be reproduced and released into the air waves from wires and circuits. I use dual Outlaw L/R amps nothing fancy and double pairs of JBL 4309 and I have a basic Klipsch sub on the floor. The stereo field is a big one because that's how well the monitor surrounds you or puts instruments in the appropriate locations even when only coming from 2 speakers in front of you. Obviously you'll never know your system sucks if you never compare it to anything else. Ignorance is bliss. The speakers that come on-board like CK etc. it's pretty silly.
