Wow…Thank you SO much for this! I was about to return my new LL-TA, thinking it was defective b/c the reverb wouldn’t work. This solved my issue!! Yeaa!!SOLVED IT...! Or, so it seems.
When I bought my used / pre-ownd Yamaha LL-TA the on-board (unplugged) actuator-driven effects levels were far lower than I'd expected, although the Line-Out connection provided plenty of effects.
Now, in my original post above, I surmised it may be something physical, e.g. the actuator not seating correctly, or an outside factor like my fat midriff damping down the back of the guitar.
Well, it seems I've found a fix. Read on and check it out on your own TA guitar.
There is an "advanced" setting, which Yamaha refer to as the EQ setting. See another post i this group, entitled "Yamaha TransAcoustic EQ Adjustment Mode" where members have experimented with this "EQ" setting.
Essentially, IMHO what Yamaha describe as "EQ adjustment" is in reality, an effects level/volume adjustment.
Here's what I found... Try this
Follow the instructions for accessing "EQ Adjustment" i.e. hold down the on/off middle button for about 5+ secs, till the LED flashes. Then turn the same button right down to Zero.
Now store that setting by coming out of "EQ" mode - by again holding down the middle ON/OFF button for 5+ secs until the LED STOPS flashing.
Now try playing your guitar and try your reverb and Chorus. You'll find, like me, that your effects are at a really low level / hardly audible at all (which is what I first heard)
Now repeat the whole "EQ" process above, but this time rotate the middle ON/OFF button right round to max.
Come out of EQ mode again and now play your guitar. The effects will be huge by comparison. You may even hear some feedback!
OK Now repeat that "EQ" process yet again and set your Middle knob at about 7 out of 10. Come out of EQ mode and play your guitar. You'll find a good strong level of effects without feedback, I hope. So this way, you can make significant adjustments to the level of Effect Output coming from your actuator. Each time you come out of EQ mode that setting is stored and retained.
Have fun, experiment and find your favourite "EQ" setting.
In conclusion, although Yamaha describe this process as "EQ adjustment" it seems to be far more than that. It affects the whole Actuator Effects Level.
Let me know if this works similarly for you.![]()
