Electric Guitar, Amps & Effects • New Revstar RSP20x pickup swap help

I just bought a Yamaha Revstar RSP20X. Honestly, the build quality is excellent, the setup is good, and the action is low. I have no complaints about the construction or the look of the guitar—it really has a great, aggressive style with a nice color. However, maybe I just need more time with it, but I'm not entirely happy with the YGD VH5 pickups. They feel low output and a thin to me. I'm not saying this is good or bad; it's just that I'm used to playing Gibsons and Gretschs. I'd consider this kind of sound in a Jaguar or similar, but I'd like my Revstar to sound thicker

My question is, has anyone tried swapping these pickups for PAF-style ones? Does it make the tone fuller, or is this bright, thin, yet clear and crisp sound something inherent to the guitar that won't change much with different pickups? Personally, I think it might. Am I the only one who would describe the sound this way? I'm considering replacing the pickups with Gibson Burstbuckers and might even disconnect the focus switch as well. I bought this guitar secondhand but in like-new condition at a very low price, so I don’t mind modifying it.

As for the nut, has anyone changed it and noticed an improvement? The stock nut seems like cheap plastic, although it's well cut. Ot is it Tusq?

I understand that the Revstar has its own unique voice, but I think it's not exactly what I'm looking for. However, I really like the look and specs, so I’d definitely like to take it in a different direction.
