Yes there were some early detailed articles about "GEX" and what it could do being electro magnetic doesn't have the typical limitations of traditional sensors but whether Yamaha will or how far they exploit that remains to be seen.
That would be an M8x OS update exclusively for that unit to unlock the potential of the GEX I guess.
Considering even IF they were to release the M6x M7x those might not have identical capabilities unless they develop something similar, then, at that point the new OS would unlock all of those "x" units together or at the M6x M7x time of release the new M8x OS would also be released. That could be the on the timeline but probably years? down the road.
