Welcome to the forums... would I instead, be able to go out and buy an all male y cable, 1/4" TRS to 1/4" TS, TR and run the SY77 headphone out to my digital hard disk recorder, left and right inputs? Thanks
You could do that, the output of the headphone as you know is a lot louder that the line outs,
so some limiting is needed on the recorders input, otherwise serious clipping.
Make sure it is a good cable, and not some nasty from ali/ebay/amazon.
Cheap cables, cheap manufacturing = goodbye one side of the headphone amp.
(I've seen it happen)
Find one of a reputable brand from a reputable store/seller.
meantime look at having the synth diagnosed, it's worthy of saving.
