I think it's a case of "Oh wait, I can have 300 more presets and performances!" that is attractive. There is so much User Memory available now that adding a couple Gigs of sounds - professionally designed (supposedly) - just gives you that much more to experiment with.There are 3,369 presets in the Montage M, so I do wonder why people want more libraries.....
I remember my EX5 having 256 presets and that was your lot.
I've started marking favorites through each category to revisit later and I'm not even halfway through them yet. Once I have all those selected I need to tweak them or borrow from them for my own Performances.
And I haven't even thought about investigating the Arps or Drum Patterns yet!
