Another option is the Korg arranger, which is a better option the Nord S4 or Korg because the price is similar.
The BIG $$ on Nord S4 is what most people probably don't even use it with 7 layers or even 5 or 4 and that with SSS is what drives up the cost into the Korg arranger price point range.
If you don't need 5,6 or 7 layers and one-button one-function seems like the Korg is a better option.
Some like the Stage 3 better also with song mode. Is the S4 a red herring plus it's red and distracts from the point of a rather absurd price point for stuff you might never actually use.
Then it simply comes down to which sounds best overall even if you don't need some of the arranger functionality.
The YC73 is a steal for what it does and I can't rationalize any good reason to sell or replace it. It just kills Nord in pricing and you still get a lot of quality plus real FM. Mike tried to explain it's not a synth but real FM is indeed not a sample so it is a real synth. You can also unison the FM for thick voicing plus it has the new F4 thru F6 with effects so it's well worth noting. He didn't really represent Yamaha and the YC well at all against the Nord. I was watching it thinking "what are you doing!?".
