The power switch on Montage models is electrically located immediately after the incoming AC power. If the Montage's switch is left on, then the switch on an external device will act similarly to that of the Montage. Such an arrangement would still allow the "auto-off"/circuit-breaking function of the internal switch to operate if/when needed.Good points, thanks. Right now I have 2 keyboards on one surge protector, a sub on the next, and 2 monitors on the third. Starting with keys, I give a couple seconds between each power up to avoid downstream pops. It’s worked well in the past—just wondering if the montage has any known problems with a startup from an external source.
