This is why banks automatically log you out, or at least mine does. PayPal also has auto-logout after a few minutes.
I think perhaps many people do not understand how prevalent hacking is. They think because they are not a business they won't be a target. I get this with some of my customers who have personal websites or sites where they don't sell goods etc.
They are shocked when they see how many hack attempts are made on their websites every day!
They also do not grasp the wider implications. If a hacker manages to install malware on a website, then every visitor to that site is a potential target. Drive-by malware is all over the net. You don't even need to click on anything. Just visiting the site can compromise your personal computer or device, and once that happens, the hackers also have access to all your contacts. And they use those to spread more malware by getting the people you know to click links in emails that look like they come from you.
Security is a complete pain in the ass but if you don't change your mindset and accept that it is just one of those things you need to be aware of, you will, eventually fall foul of hackers.
