hi Jugge,
I have used VLC Media player combined with "MiniLyrics" plug-in (Google) for that purpose -both are free.
As far I know, VLC ditched support for MiniLyrics in more recent versions. I don't know if it works with latest VLC version, but I know for sure that it works with VLC version 2.2.6.0 32bit (not sure about 64bit version).
Once MiniLyrics plugin is installed into VLC, you only need to provide a video or mp3 file for sound and txt file which contain lyrics. Lyric text file has similar timing format as SRT subtitle file, for example:
[00:01.00] *Artist: Susan Boyle
[00:02.00] *Title: Little drummer boy
[00:07.20] ...
[00:08.20] Come they told me
[00:11.73] pa rum pum pum pum
[00:16.80] A new born King to see
[00:19.73] pa rum pum pum pum
...
There might be more practical free solutions in internet that I'm not aware of.
Bogdan
PS: Maybe you try KaraFun player.
