Tthanks for the info, and yes, I agree and will follow up regarding this issue. This could have burned down my whole building! then what! I feel very fortunate that it occured while I was right next to it.

Have you contacted Yamaha about this? If not, get onto them because it simply should not happen, ever!
This is a serious safety issue for all HS7 users. Please report this issue to Yamaha. Wow!
1) Any product that can fail in this manner should have a safety device (such as a thermal fuse) as part of the design. The HS7 units should probably be recalled.
2) In my opinion, just notifying a dealer or Yamaha isn't sufficient with such a dangerous occurrence. Presuming that the HS7 is UL (Underwriters Laboratories) listed - check the label on the rear of the speaker - then UL should be notified of the problem.
