Yamaha MODX and MODX+ Forum • Re: MODX currently unavailable - Updates to come ?

According to my music dealer, it's currently unavailable. He said that a new software version will arrive, and it will be available again probably by the end of the month.

There are 3 parts in these two sentences:

1. The MODX+ is currently not in stock, and they will have probably have it in stock by the end of the month.
2. A new software version will arrive.
3. The MODX+ is currently not in stock because of a new software version.

Point (3) would be unusual. There is usually no reason for a dependency between these two things. Except for legal/compliance reasons (e.g. new EU regulations effective since the start of this year).

Temporarily delays (1) are not unusual. Large online stores like Thomann are good at predicting the demand for such keyboards. If they are out of stock for 2 weeks, then it can be an indicator for temporarily delays on the supplier side. However, I would not read much more into that.

Point (2) has been discussed previously on this forum. I think the consensus is that it is unlikely that Yamaha will release a software update with new features for the MODX+. Unless it is something that improves the interoperability with newer models.
