There is one thing you should also keep in mind. Yamaha has the unpleasant habit that a successor model usually has all the voices of its predecessor, but not all the styles. If you use preset styles in your registrations, some (or perhaps many) of your registrations will no longer work properly in a successor model. Missing styles are then automatically replaced by "similar" styles. This often doesn't sound good. And it doesn't help to load the missing preset styles as user styles, because the paths in the registrations do not point to these user styles.
The problem does not occur if you save the preset styles as user styles and only use these in your registrations.
