Yamaha PSR/PSS/DGX • Re: DGX-670 pros and cons?

The P-S500 at half price would have been hard to resist, I'm sure. Although I'm not sure how the tablet connection works. Are the sounds and styles loaded into memory on the piano, or is there the latency of the tablet to put up with? If it's the latter, the P-S500 would have been much less attractive.
I heavily researched the P-S500 vs. the DGX-670 along with Mark's help here on this forum but I still have not made a decision. All the sounds and styles reside in the P-S500. The Smart Pianist app just accesses them and there should be no latency. The tablet is just Yamaha's way to access all the features & settings without having tons of buttons on the keyboard itself. You have to decide if you like the idea of having a tablet or phone always connected to be able to use those features. A few other points to note:

-the P-S500 cannot add any new styles, whereas the DGX can via USB stick, though the style list on the S500 looks pretty good
-the P-S500 internal speakers are better than the DGX
-the P-S500 has a Bosendorfer piano and a more up to date sound set
-DGX is not a touchscreen so the button panel and U/I will be more cumbersome in my opinion

my summary: the P-S500 is the more premium instrument but you cannot add styles and you must use Smart Pianist to get the most out of it.
