No. In as much as we know that CPUs run hot, so some form of heat dissipation is needed: either forced or natural cooling. But that was never noticeable outside the case. There are no air vents, so all the fan is doing is recirculating air away from the CPU but within the case. And as my old apprentice master used to say "if you do not leave skin on contact, then it aint hot!"OK, yes, and no fan...No fan
Didn't the "old" Kronos run hot... with a fan...?
I've said many times, when the Kronos boots the fan runs at full speed as part of BIOS testing and then it settles down to a low speed (there is a System Setting to control whether it goes at full blast or speed is temperature sensitive, so you can make your choice). When at slow speed I have never heard it in normal use until a year or so back when it was starting to get a little clicky, but a good squirt of WD40 on the fan cured that
