Hi,
Firstly I want to say how pleased I am for Forum Members and musicians everywhere who will be very happy about the launch of the Korg Kronos 3. I truly hope it's everything you were all hoping for and I'm pretty sure it will be (or is).
What I am disappointed about is the way people have reacted to the Nautilus range of keyboards. The Nautilus was never promoted as a flagship Workstation. It was launched with lesser features at a far reduced price (one that I was able to afford when I purchased the 88 note model). I paid approximately half the retail price of a new Kronos 3, 88.
Strangely, I have read on various different Forums some Members voicing displeasure about potential features (or lack of features) in this new Model. Probably best to get hands on one first before making judgements.
I hold my hands up for criticism of my PA5X, but in fairness I have had it for two years and the lack of promised features, the problem with the LED's and the instability of the O/S was a justification for some things I have said. It does now look however as if things have taken a turn for the better with the impending O/S 1.4.0 update.
Chris
The Nautilus is a fine keyboard …. Depending on the features you want. If you like the features it has at the right price point then it is a fine keyboard. If Korg introduce the Nautilus but take the Kromos off of the market, well that was always a strange move, and it left them open to speculation that the Nautilus was the new high end model. I’ve said many times why the Nautilus was not for me, but that does not mean it is not for you our others.
