Yamaha MODX and MODX+ Forum • Re: SysEx Utility for loading Soundmondo Files into the MODX

Oh boy, with all the bells and whistles :)

It took me a few minutes to get it to work, because my path had spaces in them, and the script does not like me to put the path names for the vars in double quotes.

Anyway, works like a charm - you be the awesome!

I especially like the save to favorites folder function :)

I was thinking about making a GUI with G4C. I'll see if I can do that too.
Glad you liked it. I'm no pro att scripting but this was fairly easy even using batch which isn't the most flexible language around.

It's working fine but I still felt something was missing so I've actually added a history function as well.
After the content for a file is sent to the instrument, the filename is written to a "history" file which is used to skip loading the same performances again. If the script is stopped and started again it will resume at the same point it was aborted from.
This will make it easier to go though all the files in the soundmondo dump which consists of thousands of sysex files.

Regarding sendmidi and the windowed mode, I found that even the largest sysx files in the dump takes mere seconds to be fully transferred even though sendmidi will continue to wait for DIN connection for like a minute or more so there is not really any point in using the internal mode I've added.
If the script is used with other slower gear then it might be useful though so I left it untouched for now.

How do you call this cmd line script and have it invoke the sendmidi program? I call the cmd line and it says that 'sendmidi' is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file. What am I missing?
