Electric Guitar, Amps & Effects • Looking for the finest amp modeler to start learning electric guitar

I plan to purchase an electric guitar soon. I've been playing acoustic for less than two years.

I guess all I want in an amp is a clean Fender, such as a Deluxe Reverb. But for now, all I want is the model, not the real amplifier. (I live in an apartment, don't intend to perform live with a band anytime soon, and it would be a PITA to transport an amp in my circumstance.)

So I'd want to start with the modeler path.

I like playing blues, blues rock, Americana, and rock. I play a lot of bottleneck slides. Think Bonnie Raitt or Megan Lovell in Larkin Poe tones. There is no need for excessive amplification or distortion.

Any suggestions on which modeler makes the greatest Fender-style amps for me? I don't need a lot of options, and the Quad Cortex seems to be overkill for my needs. I appreciate the concept of playing with a variety of pedals, which is why I was first interested in the HX Stomp.

Recently, I've been considering trying the NUX Amp Academy (and getting a volume/tuner pedal combination) or the NUX MG-30. They look like excellent, low-cost beginning places. My two reservations about these two options:

- Limited selection of effects pedals. How nice are their Fender amplifiers (or how simple it is to locate decent Fender IRs)?

How do the Fender amplifiers in NUX modelers compare to the Iridium? I'm leaning toward NUX over Iridium, in part because the latter would need me to buy a DI box to connect to my PC.

What do you think would be ideal for me to buy? I am aware that, if I continue to grow, I will ultimately desire something more advanced. For the time being, I'm OK with a basic kit; I'll save more for later.
