Exactly that. I feel like I could've saved almost half the money on sx7x0 (and not miss out too much compared to sx920) *or* spent the same money better with Genos.

I'm not sure what you actually regret.. that you didn't buy Genos? Or SX700?
I think the regret is not having much sx920 specific content at the moment; and that's fair.
Exactly that. I feel like I could've saved almost half the money on sx7x0 (and not miss out too much compared to sx920) *or* spent the same money better with Genos.
that was also my point, I feel like third party content creators often treat SX920/SX720 as one instrument (and the same with SX900/SX700, S975/S775 etc), meaning 9xx exclusive sounds are usually not used (other than in factory styles). That being said:I've found styles from a wide variety of models play well on my 720, don't limit yourself to only those which state 920
I guess that's the correct attitude (no matter what instrument I end up with). I suppose that's the charm of arranger keyboards - to experiment, to use different sounds, combine existing styles etc. Etc.experiment a bit. And a little tweaking can go a long way.
okay, that's something positive! I didn't know that! I thought any Genos Revo drums style requires remapping to play on sx series. That also means getting Genos 1 styles is not as stupid idea as I initially thought. I mean, obviously, there are missing voices, so in some cases one would need to replace some voices, but it is much more feasible than remapping notes on the drum channel*whereas* G1 styles (and some G2), automatically remap the drums for you, so you don't have to touch them at all?!

In fact that was the reason of my post, technically I can still return the instrument to the store (I bet stores don't like that lawBut if you think you are always going to be disappointed it's not a Genos, maybe it's not too late to change it?

That's absolutely clear, thanks for you point, glad to hear you replaced almost new sx900 with tyros 4 and you are satisfied with the choice! That's two generations difference and still the top tier model was better for you than a newer mid-tier instrument. However this is purely the personal opinion of just one person. The 920 is an up to date keyboard with great features so enjoy it!
will do it! My SX came with all available packs pre-installed, which paradoxically made me not explore them, because I wasn't impressed by some of them, but I will definitely check this one!But keep in mind the new S.Art+ in the sx920/sx720 is *incredibly* expressive; download the CPophit pack to see what I mean. Genos 2 owners are jealous of that!
That's true, I remember seeing absolutely amazing performances even on PSR-9000! I guess in my mind I feel like "with Genos I would play amazing", which obviously is not true, more SA2 voice won't make a good player and vice versa.A friendly advice: stop looking what your keyboard can, or can not do -because that will make you unhappy without a good reason. The only thing that matters is, what you can do with your keyboard. It can take years to learn and fully exploit the keyboard and you have it only for a week.
