Hi there,
I’m new to this forum and have already search for solutions to my problem/question but couldn’t find any…
My question is in regards to the Masterkeyboard functionality and the zone settings in CP73/88. I’ve connected an MX49 to my CP73 for a cheap but great Motif sound bank but struggle to get more complex live sets configured. For example I use the CP for playing Bass and Rhodes and the MX for Guitar and Strings. I’d like to add now a Piano on the CP but can’t figure out how to manage that through Zones ie. with lower and upper limits. The MOXF for instance has both IntSw (Internal Switch) and ExtSw (External Switch) plus corresponding Lower and Upper Limits for each Zone in Master Mode. I can’t find something corresponding in the CP. Masterkeyboard Zones appear to apply only for external control and split only has 2 areas. Or have I missed something?
CP73 Settings:
E-Piano Section:
-01 78Rd
-Split Right (D2)
-Controllers/Receive Switch/Sustain: On
Sub Section:
-18 Finge Bass
-Split Left (D2)
-Controllers/Receive Switch/Sustain: Off
Master Keyboard Zone 1:
-Zone Switch: On
-Tx Channel: 1
-Note Limit Low: D2
-Not Limit High: C#3
-Bank MSB: 63
-Bank LSB: 1
-Program Change: 85 (=GTR:038:CleanSlide on MX49)
-Volume: 100
Master Keyboard Zone 2:
-Zone Switch: On
-Tx Channel: 2
-Note Limit Low: D3
-Not Limit High: E6
-Bank MSB: 63
-Bank LSB: 3
-Program Change: 11 (=STR:018:Med Sec on MX49)
-Volume: 75
Maybe I describe what I try to achieve in detail? I‘m trying to figure out a configuration for a solo performance of Sailing by Christopher Cross.
I start by playing the strings of the intro on the MX49 because I need almost 5 octaves for that. While keeping the strings alive with sustain pedal in the last bar, I start playing the main arpeggio on the CP73: Bass with my left hand, Rhodes with my right which also triggers the signature Chorus Guitar on the MX49 simultaneously. For the interlude I‘d now need a piano and would theoretically have the are between D3 and E6 available on the CP73. It‘s also Zone 3 which triggers Strings on MX49 but that‘s fine. I can live with that or put Strings in E6 to E6 as well.
I can enable all 3 sections on the CP73 but only set 1 split point. So when bass is on the left side of the split, Rhodes is on the right and up to E6. Ideally it would only be active up until D3 and Piano from the onwards.
Is there a way to get this sorted?
My workaround for now is to create another live set with piano only to which I switch for the interlude and then back again.
Many thanks,
Stefan
