Well, I've checked all of the DX sounds on Genos2 and I should admit that new FM engine, definitely makes all these sounds more rich and expressive than the DX samples on Genos ....
Genos2 overall is a very good i should call it "jukebox" with tons of styles for famous songs and lots of weird eastern European and German music like styles (it seems that it's been designed mainly for that region) and it's definitely for older home player musicians, but it surely has a great sound quality.
Where Korg produce 3 different versions aimed for different markets (International, Oriental and Musikant), Yamaha produce a 'AllInOne' machine to cover it all. I have Pa5 International, and should most likely bought Musikant that contains styles and sounds that is closer to Scandinavian / W.European musicstyles.
The international version has more modern rhythms and much is aimed at newer pop music. And not least, for those of us who play a lot with the use of styles, the selection of Yamaha compatible styles is substantial compared to Korg.
I haven't received the G2 yet, expect it to be here next week. Then I get to experience the changes from G1. (If I still remember how G1 sounded)
If I were to say something that differentiates the Korg Pa5 from the Genos1 (and 2?), it would have to be that I have the feeling that the TOTL Korg is more aimed at the professional musician, and that Yamaha aims more at both directions, the professional and the regular home player with the MOTL and TOTL series.
And of course, this is my very personal thoughts ...
