Yamaha Montage and Montage M Forum • Re: Sample Memory Full?

I have finally broken down and took some time to come to church and finally record this issue as it happens. Posted the video on the Montage M Public Facebook Group as I had the opportunity to talk directly to Joel Borg (of the Yamaha Tech Talk Videos) about this issue, and sadly he also thinks my files are corrupted (which they are not).
Not sure if you tried this or not, but thought it worth posting incase you haven't.

Gather all the Yamaha released libraries for the Montage M & Montage that have waveforms (Piano libraries are usually quite large & Yamaha have provided some libraries for Bosendorer, as well as the Upright/C3/Felt U1 Piano library that they last provided for the original Montage):
- Do a factory reset/initialize
- Load a Yamaha Library (start with loading the largest libraries first)
- 'Library Import' all the Performances in that library to User memory (includes all waveforms)
- Delete the Library
- Load another Yamaha Library
- 'Library Import' all the Performances to User memory
- Delete the Library
...Rince and repeat until the User memory (after all Libraries are deleted) is past the 2GB mark or until you receive the error

It might take some time, but do this all on the Montage M itself from a USB stick, and don't use John Melas or other utilities! I've seen legit issues with some libraries for the Montage that were created or modified using John Melas ("Narf Sounds" libraries), and Yamaha Support found the issue, fixed it and sent me the fixed Library file, which then allowed me to load the Libary and Library Import the 'Performance + waveforms' without issues. :o

I believe there may be more Yamaha libraries with waveforms that might help you get past the 2GB point &/or get you to the error... (maybe others on here might know off hand some other Yamaha released libraries with waveforms..!?)

This way it's either an issue with Yamaha's own library waveforms, or a limitation of User memory, or a bug perhaps, and Yamaha Support won't be able to easily say that the waveforms are corrupt..!?

Using Yamaha's own libraries, they should be able to easily reproduce the issue themselves! ;)
