Have you tried more than one USB stick?

So here's the results of my test.

I tried two 8GB USB sticks, one from Kangu and one from PNY. The test I did was to format the USB stick and then check on my MacStudio whether it was readable. I've factored out Sonoma as my MacStudio is still on Ventura. (Sonoma is giving me a few issues currently)

Each stick was subjected to two tests:

• Format stick on m8x, power m8x off, unplug stick from m8x, plug stick into mac, see if volume mounts

• Format stick on m8x, unplug stick from m8x, plug stick into mac, see if volume mounts

The kangu failed both tests. The PNY passed both tests.

Clearly choice of stick is important. As far as this test goes, power cycling made no difference.
