Yamaha MX Forum - Covers the MX49, MX61 and MX88 • Help with MX61 SysEx output

Hello forum, my first post here after years in read-only mode :)

I'm currently debugging a custom MX Patch Manager program. It sends some MIDI SysEx queries to the instrument at the start up, then goes on with its internal logic, where it was failing. I think I managed to isolate and fix a local db access problem, well, I just rebuilt the database.

Now, I want to test the whole thing from the start up and need to generate some SysEx output data for the test. I don't have that blue MX61 at hand currently.

So I wonder if anyone here versed with MX SysEx could help me by generating the output data. Mocking this up from the Data List is just mission impossible.

The initial requests are the following (in Hex):

Code:

f0 43 21 7f 17 0e 00 02 f7f0 43 30 7f 17 0e 00 02 f7f0 43 30 7f 17 36 00 41 f7
Well, I did my homework and read the docs. My understanding is that these are parameter queries at addresses "0e 00 02" and "36 00 41". The latter is probably the "Keyboard Mode: single/layer/split" and should respond with something like "f0 43 10 7f 17 00 01 36 00 41 00 f7" for single mode. The "0e 00 02" query is likely something more complex.

I appreciate it if you could help me with getting the actual SysEx response from the MX.
