Hi,
Not sure if you are aware, but Brian at Sector 101 sells SEMB05 replacements, albeit currently out of stock, but Brian builds them in small batches.
When you say reference cards I assume you mean the wave ROM cards? Or if you mean the documentation cards, I am not sure if I have them somewhere but could check and copy if I do have them
Assuming you meant that, then along with your request for a RAM card, Brian also sells the Waveblade and Datablade products which expand the capabilities of the Data and Wave card slots, by allowing you to add your own extra voices and waves via that route. The Datablade is better than the original MCD as you can store several extra banks instead of just one.
If you get a Waveblade, then Brian also has downloads for quite a few of the original Wavecards that you can program into the Waveblade - you can follow the link of available images from Brian's Waveblade page (link towards the end of the page). The SYN Waves you mention are in this list, but not sure if the downloads cover the voices as well. This blog post discusses the SYN set, so maybe worth approaching the blog author to see if he can help. He still seems active.
If you have a registered copy of my sy.factory librarian, then, in additional everything it does, you can also build your own images for the Waveblade from your own samples.
And the Yamaha Manual Library has the original documentation including the MIDI spec
I think that covers everything you were asking for - albeit RAM and Wave are maybe a different approach to what you were thinking
HTH
