thank you I guess that's the only way.I have a MODX, and I assume it is similar on the Montage M.I am a Montage M user.
Can't I move what's in the user bank to the library?
Is it impossible to overwrite library files?
A number of things can be done on the keyboard itself. I am not aware of any 3rd party software for the Montage M.
First, a user file and a library file are basically identical, except for the filename extension (.Y2U vs .Y2L), and utility settings.
For moving the user area into a library: Save the content of the user area as a library file, import the library file (into the library area), and delete everything from the user area.
Note: I think that there is an error in the Montage M manual. For saving with content type "Library File" it states "Settings stored in the Library area of User memory are saved to a USB flash drive as a Library file". This is not how it works on the MODX. I guess the documentation should say "Settings stored in the User area of User memory are saved to a USB flash drive as a Library file."
For modifying a library: Let's assume you have the library file LIBRARY.Y2L (not yet loaded), and you want to reduce the amount of reverb on all its performances. Save the content of the user area as a user file (USERBACKUP.Y2U), rename LIBRARY.Y2L into LIBRARY.Y2U and then import it (overriding the user area). Make the changes in the user area, and save the content of the user area as a library file LIBRARY_WITH_LESS_REVERB.Y2L. Load the USERBACKUP.Y2U into the user area to restore the previous state, and then load LIBRARY_WITH_LESS_REVERB.Y2L into the library area.
