Yamaha MODX and MODX+ Forum • Re: Importing more than one midi file in single performance

Hi forumers,

this is my first request post, I hope this is appropriate, I did not open a new discussion since the topic is related to this one.

I have recently purchased a second hand MODX6. What I'm trying to do is to load a midi file with a multitrack recorded song and import it into a liveset to be played with a MODX performance. This works smoothly with a wave file backing tracks, but not with a midi file.
I succesfully load the file but then I cannot saveit into a performance.

My process:
-INIT a new performance with a custom part (e-piano)
- touch play, choose midi file, USB and find my midi song. Store the performance with the song.
- back to performance home screen and play the midi song starts. I tweek the parts deleting the unwanted, changing instruments, ok, but then if I reload the performance I get the original midi tracks without my preferences. Even saving the midi song it doesn't ovewrite the original.

IS there a workaround from the MODX to edti midi songs and save-link to a user performance? By the way midi songs cannot be stored in livesets, like wave files?

My last attempt was to edit the midisong with an external PC midi editor, changing channels, deleting tracks, altering volumes, but then when I imported into MODX... all data were cancelled.

Am I doing wrong or there is no way to import and playing along with midi songs?

Thanks a lot, Simone
