The original version of The Legend is pretty amazing (as are Synapse Audio's other soft synths), but this Hans Zimmer (HZ) version takes it even further with the doubling of the oscillators, etc.
It is available for £69 as an upgrade for the existing Legend Owners, so I snapped it up. And whilst not a cheap VST, Synapse VSTS are, I think worth it for their quality, and the chances are that if you wait long enough then you will see it for sale either on Synapse's own web store or via the plugin discounters.
FYI, Hans also worked with U-HE to create a HZ version of the Zebra around the time he was doing the scoring of Nolan's Batman films.
It's great that a notable composer can work with the soft synth companies to make great soft synths even greater. And I use his studio as an example to my wife that mine is not really that excessive!![:)]( "Smile")
Slightly OT, but Sound on Sound April Edition had an article Dune: Hans Zimmer & Friends, which was really interesting about their approach to the music scoring for Dune 2 (even more so after finally getting to see Dune 2 at the cinema yesterday), including his team making their own custom instruments. You will need to be an SOS subscriber to read it all, or buy the PDF for £1, but it is highly recommended reading. In six months it will probably be a free to read article. But even if you do not subscribe or purchase, you'll get the first 30% of the article to whet your appetite.
