The Yamaha supported method to format a USB stick/drive is:
1. Insert it into the 'USB To Device' port
2. With the synth powered on, press the 'Utility' button
3. Press Contents
4. Press Load
5. Press Job (top right)
6. Select your USB stick/drive
7. Press Format > Format (YES)
8. Type a name for the Volume (i.e. MODX)
9. Press Done
It formats it as FAT32
I use Windows 11 on a PC, so I'm not sure about a MAC, but I would think it should work fine on a MAC as well when formatted properly on the MODX...
Perhaps there is an extra trick in getting it to work on your MAC..!?
It could also just be the brand of USB stick/drive that you are using!? You can't go wrong with a Kingston or a SanDisk![Wink ;)]()
Also, the size of the drive or perhaps the size that it's formatted to might matter..!? I use a couple of 32GB Kingston DataTraveler's
