Is there a quick way to switch sounds during live performance? I may use different sounds in a single song: like piano, then some synt, then brass. Is there a quick way to do that during live performance?
There are 20 banks of 8 Live Sets that can be recalled with a single button press. Within each Live Set, you can have up to 3 sounds, which you can call up individually or in any combination. So at any given moment, you can switch to another sound very quickly, either by switching to one of the other sounds in the current Live Set, or by switching to one of the other 7 Live Sets in the current bank.

So to use your example, you either...

...create a Live Set that has PIano in Part A, Synth in Part B, and Brass in Part C, and then use the A/B/C On/Off buttons to switch those sounds on or off as needed. You could also leave all three sounds always on, and then use the A/B/C volume sliders to bring them in and out as needed. (This approach has the advantage of displaying the names of the A/B/C sounds on the screen regardless of whether or not they are the ones currently sounding.)

OR

...create a Live Set that has piano, and next to it (or at least within the same bank of 8 ) another Live Set that has synth, and then another Live Set that has Brass. Tip: Hit the Page Forward and Back buttons together, and the display will show you the names assigned to each button in your current set of 8 Live Sets, so you won't have to remember which button has which sounds.

Those are the fastest ways to switch sounds. If you have another few seconds, you can switch to a different bank of Live Sets to access 8 other sounds (which, again, can actually be sets of up to 3 sounds), or you can also call up a different sound within the Live Set you're on by using the front panel category buttons, which, depending on the sound you're after, can still be quite quick.
Im in teh same boat...have brought mine to a few gigs and forgot where my presets for songs were...Wish there was a search feature.
You probably didn't know about the tip I described above... you can see the names of 8 of your presets at a time in the display, and you can also navigate those pages, which generally helps you locate sounds pretty quickly.
I think using the John Melas editor and creating your own banks. Like on eLiveset that has a piano, then piano and strings, piano and pad, piano & EP, biano and organ, then another with EP, EP/Strings, EP/Pad ect
Yes, the John Melas tool makes it easier to move things around. But there are also functions right in the YC that allow you to move Live Sets from one location to another. See manual p. 26 ("Swapping or Copying Live Set Sounds").
