Hey, I've been trying to figure out my new setup for a while and I got stuck at this point. I have a Montage M6 as the brain of my setup and a CP88 as my main keyboard. Usually I play piano on the CP88 and most of the other sounds on the Monatage. The CP88 sends MIDI out at channel 2 and receives at channel 3. The Montage MIDI I/O is at channel 2.
The Montage's MIDI Out goes into the CP88 MIDI In for sending Program Changes to the CP88. This way it automatically selects the correct piano sound or no sound at all on the CP88 depending on the song. I have one external part in the performance which transmits the change at channel 3.
And for the other way around I have the MIDI Out of the CP88 connected to the MIDI In of the Montage. Then I can for example add a nice pad to my piano or just play the Montage Sounds on the CP88.
I hope this makes sense so far. Now to my problem. In some situations I want to play the piano on the CP88 but not the sounds on the Montage together with it. In this case, I basically don't want any part of my performance react to the MIDI messages from the CP88. But I might want to play the sounds directly on the keyboard of the Montage. Is there a way to achieve this? Or is there another best practice?
I only found this partial solution: I can turn off the Keyboard Sw for the part. Then it's not played when I press a key on the other keyboard. But I can only play the sound on the Montage if the part is selected. So it only works with one part.
Thanks for your help!
