I have a CK61 and trying to trigger VB3II on an IPAD
I dont have the "IPAD camera connection kit" But ordered
a Lighting to USB midi cable and it does seem to work.
Why is the camera connection kit needed?

What is a lightning to USB MIDI cable? When I search for it on Amazon, then all of the results with lightning, USB and MIDI in the title look dubious.

Let's assume it it what it says on the tin: A lightning to USB cable that supports MIDI-over-USB.

If so, then it might not support audio-over-USB. That means you would have to route the audio signal directly out of the iPad through the head phone jack.

It will also not support charging the iPad.

If you use the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W ... ra-adapter), then you can charge the iPad while it is connected to the CK61, and you can send both audio and MIDI in both directions.
