Have you ever attacked your FM Programmer idea? I'm almost finished with one, I've used an ElectraOne mkII, a FaderFox MC12 mixer panel, and a FaderFox PC12 Knob control panel. I attacked the FS1R first though... Probably shouldn't have picked the most complex FM synth ever, I should have done my DX7 first! I'm almost done, I'm waiting on the ElectraOne developer to fix a bug in his OS I found. I'm getting some laminated labels made for the knobs so I can tell where everything is. The FS1R is the first software module, and I have a separate Performance module for it as well. I'll probably take on the DX7 next, it's pretty simple compared to the FS1R.
How far did you get?
I solved the multiple screens problem a different way. The first 8 green buttons along the bottom of the PC12 panel on the right select which Operators are active, then the knobs all edit different parameters for the selected Operators. Even this way, it was hard to get all of the FS1R parameters onto individual knobs. There are too many parameters! The DX7 will be much easier.
