I doubt that many Montage M owners will create their own parts with more than 8 elements.

You may be right. And with the polyphony limit of 128 for presets if one part used all 128 elements no other part would have any polyphony available.

But a part can use all 128 if it wants. The preset 'Chordz 2 Chill 2' uses 67 elements. But it is difficult for any user to actually visit each of those to examine them to see what they do for the reasons I listed earlier. You have to use a dropdown menu (which covers a good part of the screen), scroll to the element you want and then you can view the data for that element.

Since there are 128 available I see a screen like I suggested making it easier to organize the elements you use so that you can more easily use a group of elements for part of your sound.

And it makes it easier to create/provide a ONE part sound that currently would require multiple parts. When using parts as building blocks it is simpler to work with sounds that only require one part because you know they are self contained.

The CFX Concert was ONE sound but 4 parts. Now it is one part. So you can use that one sound in your own performances and only need to include one sound.

The MOST important part of that is the old 'sound' required FOUR keyboard controlled parts leaving the user with only 4 to work with.

The new 'sound' only requires ONE keyboard controlled part so the user now has seven of their own.

That is a HUGE benefit.

I also doubt that many Montage and MODX/+ owners frequently felt limited by the 8 elements per part when creating their own performances.

Could be - I don't really know.

Assign from the signigicant 'keyboard control' advantage I see a new screen as more of an organizational aid for users that DO want to use the extended elements. It makes it easier to, essentially, create 'sub-parts'.

An addition to the screen I suggested would be the ability to COPY/EXCHANGE multiple elements. That would allow you to copy elements 17-22 to another page or even another part.
