Good morning,
I have a very old model of Motif-Rack (there is only "Motif-Rack" on the front and I see 2003 on the documentation) which I used as a synthesizer for my WX11 MIDI controller. It's been a long time since I used it but as I have a new MIDI controller I would have liked to plug it into the Motif-Rack. But no sound comes out. The demo works perfectly (sound is generated) but even with the WX11 I cannot generate sound. I tried with a Yamaha piano but no sound is generated. On the other hand, the WX11 still works since connected to the piano it takes control and replaces the keyboard.
The Motif-Rack appears to be in mint condition and the demos play exactly like the day I unboxed it.
Is the problem hardware related to the MIDI input?
Or would it be a configuration?
It turns out that 3 or 4 years ago I wanted to put it back into service and pair it with a PC but the driver no longer exists for this model. Would I have created the problem then?
If anyone has a solution to suggest I would be delighted because although it is at least 20 years old the sounds of this synthesizer are still as stunning as ever.
