Yamaha Montage and Montage M Forum • Re: a few more questions

I remember reading that you could actually recreate mostly everything in Genos 1 (in terms of styles) using the built in Arpeggios and rhythm patterns in the classic Montage. I don't know if it holds true.

It would assume something similar for Genos 2 and Montage M.
But even if possible it would be lots of hard work. You would have to listen and check the 10000 (?) Arps in montage m. At that point it would probably be easier to create your custom styles rather than trying to dissect Genos styles and to voices arps etc. But if you have the time and are so inclined you will be able to create anything with either custom or the built in arps

People have published and are also selling arranger style performances for Montage. Try searching YT for "Modx arranger" and you will find a few.

There is also the point (at least for some people) of the joy of creating their own style, pattern, arp from scratch rather than just selecting the ready made one. A synthesizer is about the freedom of creating anything from scratch be it a voice, style etc. The arranger provides instant gratification but may also hinder you if you always rely on the easy stuff.

I've been an arranger player for many years and I am now trying to up my game with a synth.
