As the original one that started this topic, I feel I owe it to everyone, to explain what answer was given from the dealer and Yamaha customer service and support.
Dealer
“This characteristic is present across all models of this type. It appears to be inherent to the design of these components, and Yamaha's Quality Control has determined that it does not impact the instrument's functionality. I can also confirm that all of our display models have the same feature, so unfortunately, Yamaha will not replace this model under warranty, as it is not considered a defect”
Yamaha customer service support
“This is not a manufacturing fault, they are like that. Our tech support had a look at his and his is the same”
First off, I am perfectly happy with the instrument, the build quality is excellent, the keyboard action is the best I have ever played and I do believe it’s a game changer, I have already got the MODX8 and using the ESP plugin with a korg Liano with built in speakers, is portable and a great practice set up, especially when away from home.
I have had several Yamaha keyboards in the past from the CP30 piano, PF15 piano, SS30 string synth, DX21 synth, motif ES8 synth and now the M8x, other than Yamaha, Roland A90ex, Korg Kronos 88 even the Moog prodigy, so I have had plenty of experience playing and using keyboards
I have never had any problems with Yamaha gear, but it looks like 99% of us are in the same boat and will just have to live with it.
