Looking at the S.Art2/S.Art+ Voice Articulation list in the PSR-SX920 Data List.
S.Art+ appears to be truly a new class of voices. Yamaha have assigned them MSB=12.
Up to this point, S.Art voices have certain software scripted responses for legato, slides, and so forth. Borrowing Yamaha's terminology, these are "auto articulations" triggered by key gestures.
S.Art+ voice articulations are triggered by the ART.1, ART2, and ART3 buttons. Plus, instead of triggering legato, the buttons switch between waveforms: Tremolo, Spiccato, Pizzicato (KinoStrings). On G1, I'd have to switch between voices. S.Art+ is more like articulation switching in a modern string library (or so-called "VST).
That's pretty neat! I wonder if G2 will get S.Art+ in an update? I'm happy to see this level of invention by Yamaha.
