Acoustic Guitar Forum • Preamp intermittent fizzling sound

Looking for some help. I have a Yamaha FGX720SCA acoustic guitar. It's a great guitar and I love it. I've been playing it through the PA system a lot lately and I've noticed a strange fizzling sound that starts up after a while. It's not a buzz like you would often have with grounding or lead issues. It not overly loud but it is noticeable. The best way I can describe it is like blowing air through your teeth when making an "f" sound. I have ruled out guitar leads and amps by swapping them out but the sound still exists. If I move the EQ sliders, particularly the treble there is a pop/crack sound and the fizzling stops, at least for a little while. Any idea what could be causing this?
