Yes. I had to do the same on mine, turn both pots up full clockwise (CW) through the bottom access holes in the DM board.
With the lid up, the Zero adjust is the lower pot, and the Gain is the upper pot. If you fiddle with both either one will eventually are the value go to zero, that is just a function of zero vs gain.
I don't think Yamaha sold these with such a "brute force" after touch... I suspect the Aftertouch Sensor Pad may have lost sensitivity over the years.
I might modify the gain circuit for even more gain.
